There are several ways to be involved with KYC:
- Come to our public meetings – find dates and information on the events calendar and meetings pages
- Involve us in your school/college/youth forum/council meetings by informing us what young people in your areas need and how you think we could help to solve your issues
- Ask to attend our locality meetings – information about these are on the localities page
- Become a part of one of our projects or campaign groups – message us on this site or email us for details
- Email us with your issues and we will contact you with advice on who to speak to and how to get help. If you’re not sure whether we’re the right people to contact – don’t worry! We will be able to help you find out who you need to speak to if we can’t help you ourselves
- Apply to become a KYC – watch these pages for election information. We will post application forms as and when vacancies arrive. Main elections are every 2 years. You may also email us for application forms or information.
- Vote! Every 2 years all young people in Kirklees aged 11-19 are eligible to vote for their KYC reps through schools and colleges. Make sure your school/college supports you in allowing you your right to vote
- Tell us what’s going on in your area – the good stuff as well as the issues! The more we know, the better we can inform you and others about what’s happening in Kirklees
