It has recently been bought to my attention that travel costs for apprentices are the same price as adult fare!
 
Therefore, I have been gathering the views of Kirklees Council apprentices about their views on travel costs.

 I am in the process of summarising the feedback received and the information will then feed into a report to the Chief Executive of the council.

I attended the Kirklees Council Young Employee Network and discussed how Kirklees Youth Council can create links with young workers in the council. I am now a member of the Employee Network Steering Group!

       This is what I’ve been up to lately!

I have:

• Made a questionnaire about employment.
• Contacted service provides across Kirklees to ask that they get as many of their young people to complete it. I want to  identify what kinds of issues young people are facing and find a way to support them.
• Attended the Young Advisors Training – Creative Engagement and Inspiring Leadership.
• Made contact with the chair of Kirklees Young Employee Network and received a response inviting me to one of their meetings.
