Hi Everyone!
We are James, Brittney & Alex and we are the Kirklees Youth Councillors for the Spen Valley locality. Our role is to represent the views of young people from the Spen Valley area.
Throughout the months we have been working on promoting ourselves and identifying the issues of most importance to young people in our area. Through carrying out consultation in schools, various youth provision and via the council’s website, so far young people in our area have identified ‘Money, Jobs and Careers’ as their priority concern. Discussions have also illustrated that this issue transcends across many other areas and negatively affects other aspects of their lives such as relationships, family and emotional health.
Throughout the summer, work will continue on identifying priority concerns for young people in our area which will be collated in the Autumn.
